Back from San Antonio with my Dad! Had a great, low key time
reading, comparing different books and author’s writing styles and reviewing
some of my own work amidst exploring some of the city and the river walk. But
now it’s back to business.
Two things leap to the top of my immediate to-do list, both
including lots, and lots, of research. Agent hunting for M.A.D. and Grad
school.
The former at least I’ve got agents coming in October to the
Houston Writers Guild Conference, but I see no reason to wait until then to try
and seek traditional publication or limit myself to only presenting to those
agents. Granted, I think an in person presentation of my manuscript would be
much easier—because then I’m a person and not just one query letter in a stack
of query letters—but we’ll see how it all goes. Keep your fingers crossed!
Grad school is by far the most intimidating process. I
applied to multiple schools when I first graduated and have since learned that
was a mistake, and that most of how I went about things was wildly incorrect.
Armed with better knowledge and a more filled out resume, I set out to research
schools, programs and professors! Again wish me luck—you can never have too
much of the stuff.
